On 31st, August, 2003, the Shanghai Municipal Government started up 10,000 Overseas Scholars Converging program. Until the end of November, 2005, this program had successfully introduced into Shanghai 10,203 overseas scholars, a bit more than the pre-set target. On 7th, January, 2006, a report conference for the program was held, during which both the Shanghai Committee and the Government decided to open up a second round of converging program – 10,000 Overseas Talents Converging Program, converging another 10,000 high-level overseas scholars, foreign experts and professionals from Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan in another two years. By this means, it is hoped to further expand the scale of overseas talents in our city, optimize the structure of our talents team and quicken the process of talents internationalization.
Shanghai Office of 10,000 Overseas Talents Converging Program is a service window for Shanghai to introduce overseas talents, building up a bridge between enterprises and overseas talents. The main duties of the office are as following:1. Publicize the converging program both at home and abroad, attracting more overseas talents to work in Shanghai.2. Acquire posts information from enterprises, releasing them both at home and abroad whereafter.3. Collect overseas talents’ information, recommending them to relevant enterprises.4. Engage in market research, having a knowledge of overseas talents’ work situation after being attracted in Shanghai.5. Provide employment guide and relevant policy consultation.
Overseas talents can log on our website to register first, after which they’re able to browse all our posts and apply any they’re interested on-line; It’s also possible to e-mail the post number and name, enterprise name to our office e-mail address, attached with their own personal Chinese and English resumes.
